Product Introduction
The gearbox housing is a compact cubic casting in grey cast iron. A circular boss on the top face carries the bearing seat, while regularly spaced holes on the front and side faces take the cover and mounting bolts.
Cast iron is the natural material for gear housings: it damps gear mesh noise, resists wear at the bearing bores and machines predictably. Bores and joint faces can be finish-machined in our workshop so the housing arrives ready for assembly.
Leak-tightness matters for oil-filled housings, so castings are inspected for porosity and, where the drawing requires it, pressure tested before shipment.
